DB Tips | Bail the Right Way

Everyone is bailing at defensive back and while it has it’s advantages,  it has it’s dangers too.  Much of those dangers stem from executing bail technique the wrong way or using it at the wrong time.

In this video,  I talk about the right way and the wrong way to bail + the wrong times to use it.  The commentary comes from analysis of a play between the Green Bay Packers (offense) and the Philadelphia Eagles (defense).

In the video we see the Eagles’ defensive back bail vs. a tight split by the Packers WR and the problems it caused on the play.  There is a technique to bailing and not many people emphasize it.  What happens most times is that players are instructed to simply just turn and run out of there at the required time.
