What Did He Do Wrong – Episode 3: The Opening DB vs. WR Lost Rep

In another edition of “What Did He Do Wrong”  I pull a clip from The Opening 1-on-1s from 2017.  In the clip,  the defensive back attempts a quick jam on the WR and basically fails.

In this video,  I discuss where he went wrong and how he could have avoided finding himself in the position that he ended up in.  The result of the rep was a deep completion in the end zone.

Some people think the “quick jam” is too risky a move.  It definitely is if you don’t execute it correctly.  It can put you in a position at the line of scrimmage that would be very difficult for you to recover from no matter what the speed.

However,  when executed correctly,  the quick jam can be a devastating move that can result in anything from an awkward position for the WR at the line affecting his entire route to total elimination of the WR at the line of scrimmage.  Not to mention your entire DB group getting hyped and destroying a WR confidence.

So in the video,  I discuss some pointers in relation to what the DB did and also reference another article I have in the member’s area that discusses the right way to execute a quick jam.  You can find that article right here.
