A backpedal is an essential part of a DBs tool box.  Some people want to have you believe that a back pedal is no longer necessary for cornerbacks.  I say false!

Despite all that,  once a WR breaks your cushion when you are backpedaling,  it becomes necessary for you to open.  When you are forced to do so,  you have options and choosing the right one will make the difference in your results.

In this video,  I breakdown a simple transition out of your back pedal that can fool the WR,  get you out of your break faster and allow you to get to the WR and the ball faster.
