Post Views: 2,105 As I promised you guys last week, I was going to post the companion coverage to Stubbie. Stomp coverage is a slight tweak to Stubbie. Both coverages are excellent little additions to quarters coverage when a team is running trips formation and beating you with their route combos. Stomp and Stubbie are common coverages at the college level so if you are high school football player, it is in your best interest to learn these coverages as you may run into them in your college playbook, especially if you end up somewhere in the SEC. Stomp adds a zone element to the trips side cornerback that could throw off of the offense if they get used to a team playing Stubbie and vice versa. It is important for defensive backs to learn the terminology and with Stump I talk about ‘MOD’ which is Man On Depth. I explain what that means in the video below.
