Post Views: 1,453 I recently went through the pre-draft process with a number of NFL prospects as I do every year. As part of that process I try to prep the players for their interviews with teams. Part of what I ask them in the mock interviews is to draw up their college team’s defense. Most of the time, the defensive backs don’t have much of an idea about what the defensive line does and how they line up. This is typical but when I get a guy that has that knowledge, it impresses me. In this post, I am going to give you some knowledge on defensive lineman alignments. If you can learn this early on in your career, it will not only help you down the road if you are lucky enough to be interviewed by NFL teams but it will add to your ability to be in the right place at the right time. The more you can know about how the total defense works, the faster you can move out on the field. Perhaps you have heard a coach talk about a 3 technique or a 1 technique when talking to or about the defensive line. Perhaps you have wondered what in the world that means. Today you will learn. I have laid that out for you in the video below. This is not directly related to defensive back but it helps you be a better defensive back. At the very least, it will make you very impressive in an interview. As always, if you have any feedback or questions about this video, feel free to email me at cwilson@alleyesdbcamp.com – Thank you for being a member.
