We all love variety and change when it comes to our daily tasks. However, for a person to master a task, they must do it over and over again. There was once a time that you did not know how to tie your shoes. Someone taught you and you went from learning the task and messing it up to no longer thinking about while doing it right. How’d that happen? It’s simple, you did it over and over again. The movements of a defensive back are not normal. We live life in reverse. The tasks you must perform on the field require a certain amount of mastery. The best at the position have learned to master the basic moves without having to think about them. The less you have to think out on the football field, the faster you will move. For this reason, you must master the basic moves that are required of you time and again out on the football field. The less you have to think about those moves, the more you can think about what the offense is trying to do to you. Do you know what the basics are?
