Post Views: 1,761 Cover 1 was one of my favorite coverage is to run when I was a defensive coordinator. It allows you to be aggressive with man coverage while also having the safety of having one man deep in case something goes wrong. What I also liked about Cover 1 is that you can have variations of it. By diversifying what you do with your safeties you can add little tweaks to the coverage to confuse a quarterback and bait him into a throw he should not make. One of those variations is cover one lurk which I explain in the video down below. Lurk is very similar to Robber with one small variation that can make a big difference especially when you match it with pressure upfront. Check out the video down below for a full explanation on the cover 1 lurk. For you players out there it’s very simple but by watching this video it will not be foreign to you when you eventually run in to a coach that wants to run it. For coaches, I am sure you will enjoy this tweak on a very common man coverage that is run by defenses. As always if you have any questions or comments, you may add them at the end of this post or send me an email to see cwilson@alleyesdbcamp.com – thank you for being a member.
