Post Views: 1,971 IN the final part of the Masters of the Basics series I discuss my 4 cone drills. Getting out of breaks are essential and the 4 cone drill series works on all of the basic break situations you will encounter in a game situation. Getting out of breaks is not just a 45 degree situation or getting out of a back pedal situation. At times you will have to break 90 degrees. Sometimes you will have to break out of a shuffle while other times you will have to do so out of a crossover run. Furthermore, sometimes you will have to make breaks out of a zone situation when you are facing the QB and other times you will have to do so when you are in a man situation with your back to the quarterback. The 4 cone drill series encompasses all of those situations and works towards you perfecting your breaks out of these critical situations. Over the years, I have been able to build on the basic 4 cone drill series to involve some more advanced situations. However, when it comes to really nailing down the break basics, you can do no better than this 4 cone drill series.
