don't get blacked out

I have spoken many times on this because it is a new and growing trend at all levels of football.  Since DBs and their DB coaches are starting to abandon their backpedals,  wide receivers have formulated plans to attack DBs in their crossover runs.

There are two things in the video DB Tip breakdown.  First is video I captured from 84 Footwork on Instagram (I couldn’t remember where at the time I was filming the video) and the 2nd part is a clip from one of my NFL sessions in which I am addressing thwarting the attack of a wide receiver of your blindspot.

I am going to let the video do the talking as there are some real good explanations of what the WR is trying to do and a clear cut plan by me on how to avoid what it is the wide receiver is trying to do.

Hip flips need to be practiced.  Speed turns are a lazy man’s way to cover and will lead to you getting taken advantage of.  There are times when speed turns will happen but when you make it a common practice in your coverage,  you are going to get exposed.

If you are wondering about the title of this video and article,  I call letting a receiver get into your blindspot “Getting blacked out”

Enjoy the video and feel free to direct any questions you may have about the video, technique or the member’s area to me via email at: cwilson@alleyesdbcamp.com – Thank you for being a member.
