There is always help when you are playing man-to-man coverage even when you are playing zero coverage. When you are playing zero coverage your help is the pass rush and the fact that the quarterback has to get the ball out quickly. You are also helped by the wide receiver’s relationship to the sidelines, i.e. where he lines up. However, we are not talking about zero coverage in this post and the video down below.

The defensive back in this video has help to the inside. However, by his alignment, he chose not to use that help and pays the ultimate price. I talk about that in my analysis on the video down below. You can’t just lineup and play this game. Everything that you do has a purpose and you must pay attention to the details. Those little details are what are going to help you in the most difficult coverage situations that you face in each and every game.
