Post Views: 1,754 One of the biggest things you hear when people are talking about man coverage is “leverage”. Simply put, leverage is where you align on a wide receiver along with where you maintain position on a receiver once he begins running his route. Typically when you have help to the inside, you keep outside leverage on a receiver and when you have outside help or NO help inside, you maintain inside leverage on a receiver. What I just explained to you is not a secret to quarterbacks and wide receivers and thus they do what they have to do with that information as they run their routes to get open. How wide receivers attack your alignment and thus your leverage is what I discuss in this video. It is important to know these things as it will help you determine what it is the receiver ultimately has to do and where he is likely going. The battle between a defensive back and a wide receiver is basically a war between information. The competition is to see who has more info and who knows what to do with the information they receive. This video is here to give you a leg up in that war. It gives you information on what the receiver’s job is and tells you what you need to do prevent him from accomplishing his mission. Pay close attention to what is being told to you in this video and you can find yourself becoming more successful in your off man and zone coverage reps.
