I have been getting this question quite a bit lately so I thought I would make a series out of it.  Coaches know that lining up is half the battle and when it comes to playing man to man,  getting lined up right can literally be everything.

Young corners tend to think that man to man means that they are all alone.  That is not the case.  There is always help when you are playing man coverage even when there is no safety.  Bet you didn’t know that.  In a coverage like Cover 0,  there is help and it’s known as the sidelines or when you are in the red zone,  it’s called the end line.

What is important when playing man to man is to align in such away that you can make best use of your help.  In the video below, I discuss the proper way for cornerbacks to align when they are playing press in the various basic man coverages that exist.

In future videos I will discuss how the safeties and nickelbacks align in man coverages.  As always,  if you have any questions,  feel free to reach me via email at: cwilson@alleyesdbcamp.com – Thank you for being a member.
