Catch technique is one of my favorite techniques for defensive backs which is kind of strange considering that when I was introduced to it,  I totally hated it.  More on that story at a later date.  Anyway,  the video I have posted below is from a session I had way back in 2020 during the pandemic.  In the video,  I am working with a group that included a number of professional and college defensive backs.

In the video,  I am working our catch technique drill but in this particular case I used some visuals for the DBs doing the drill.  I placed a pair of cones behind the DBs just to show them how they need to widen the release of the receiver to change the shape of the route,  the angle of the throw and give themselves a better chance to win on the rep.

I did not do a voice over on this video.  This is just the raw video and audio from the segment in the session.  Make sure your volume is up because I was not wearing a mic during the session so it may or may not be easy to hear everything I am saying.  However,  the audio is clear on the key points I was making to both of the guys (Kenny Moore Indianapolis Colts and Marco Wilson Arizona Cardinals) about the idea + execution when we are using catch technique.
