Post Views: 2,024 When we are playing, teaching and trying to perfect our press man coverage we are often focused on our eyes, feet and hands. There is, however, one important component that goes neglected and it shouldn’t. Many defensive backs in press get betrayed by their lack of discipline in their torso. Improper trunk management puts far too much stress on our feet and legs when it comes time to change direction. In the video below I show you how an out of control torso can put you at a major disadvantage when you are trying to stay in front of a wide receiver when you are playing press coverage. Even when you have your eyes where they are supposed to be, an upper body that is allowed sway out of control will lead to your downfall in your rep. In the video, I show you a very simple drill that I do in my sessions and talk about what I emphasize to train proper body control. In addition, I show you a 1-on-1 rep where lack of torso control led to a poor rep. It is something that I see quite often by DBs when they are playing press. Enjoy the video and as always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comment. Email: cwilson@alleyesdbcamp.com -Thank you for being a member.
