Post Views: 2,892 In the next part of our series on watching film for defensive backs we are talking about studying the most important person on the offense and that is the quarterback. As we know, quarterbacks make the whole thing go on offense. They call the play, the make the adjustments, they call the audibles, they take the snap every play and they manage the personnel out on the field. With so many responsibilities attributed to the quarterback it only makes sense that as defensive backs, we devote a good amount of time studying their moves to see if we can get a line on what it is they may be trying to do on the play. Our study of the quarterback includes picking up on some things pre snap and then what is being done post snap. In this video I talk about what some of those things may be that we need to look for. I also discuss how looking for those things can help us find some other tells from the quarterback that we may not have been expecting. It really just all boils down to investigating the quarterback and trying to find out the story that he is trying to tell us before he actually tells it. The defensive back with a keen eye, focus and determination to uncover the signals will be the one that profits the most from studying the quarterback. The ones who do this religiously will become tremendous playmakers on the field on game day. As always I welcome any feedback and questions you may have on the video.
