Post Views: 1,640 Stop me if you’ve heard me say this before but the mental game is a very important part of your success as a defensive back. That will be highlighted in this What’d He Do Wrong video that I have posted here today. Study film and then being aware of the formations and situations in the game will only help you become the playmaker that you want to be. Many young defensive backs get caught up in what drills they need to do to improve their game but beyond that, It is important that you nail down the mental aspects of the position. Yeah I know, it’s kind of like school. Well I have news for you, after leave school, life is a whole bunch of what were you able to pick up in school. That includes playing football. In the video there appears to be a coverage bust but the cornerback but upon further inspection, it’s not exactly a coverage bust but more of a lack of awareness. The cornerback knew what his responsibilities were on the play, he just didn’t put himself in position to execute his responsibilities. This is why situational awareness is so important. You can have all the speed and skill in the World but if you don’t have awareness you will still lose. I go more in depth into that in the video listed below. Take heed to what I am saying and pointing out in the video.
